Description

BlueCore Energy is hiring a Lead Reactor Physics & Shielding Engineer to own the neutronics doctrine and radiological safety of its marine compact pressurized water reactor. The role covers core geometry, enrichment, lattice and reflector design, reactivity control, criticality and kinetics, depletion, shutdown margins, shielding, radiation-dose mapping, source terms, and control-room and offsite design-basis accident analyses. The position requires an MS or PhD in a relevant nuclear or radiation field, hands-on experience with continuous-energy Monte-Carlo transport and criticality codes, shielding and lattice-physics or depletion experience, and proficiency with nuclide-inventory tools. The role is on-site at the Long Beach facility and may involve physical labor, navigation of active construction or manufacturing zones, and operation of heavy machinery or specialized equipment.
