Root is hiring a Lead Software Engineer on AI Platform to guide the team building shared AI infrastructure, tools, deployment patterns, and operational practices. The role sets quarterly technical priorities, coordinates cross-team dependencies, establishes architecture and production patterns, and coaches engineers while working closely with hard technical work. Candidates need at least five years of software engineering experience, one year leading software teams or major technical initiatives, and strong cloud, DevOps, security, observability, and AI/LLM platform experience. The position offers a salary range of $164,200 to $240,000, bonus and equity eligibility, and work-from-anywhere support across the United States.
