Faculty is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for its Defence team to lead backend and edge/IoT engineering for high-stakes defence projects. The role involves mentoring engineers, designing scalable software components, implementing CI/CD and containerisation, shipping production code in Python and compiled languages, and integrating AI and machine learning capabilities. Candidates need extensive application-development experience, proficiency in Python and at least one compiled language, leadership ability, and hands-on DevOps experience with GitLab CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes. The role requires UK security clearance, client-site work of 2–4 days per week, and the option to work from the London office or remotely within the United Kingdom.
