Mastercard is hiring a Lead Software Engineer for its Next Edge program to lead the design, development, and evolution of a next-generation edge platform and backend services. The role owns architecture decisions, technical strategy, complex initiatives, engineering standards, testing, reliability, security, and production support, while mentoring engineers and influencing cross-team adoption. Candidates need a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, at least 8 years of software engineering experience, expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and distributed systems, strong Golang and cloud-native development experience, and experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, CI/CD, and DevSecOps. The role is based in O'Fallon, Missouri, with a base salary of $140,000-$231,000 USD.
