Description

Mastercard is hiring a Lead Software Engineer-Full Stack to provide technical leadership and hands-on engineering for scalable, resilient, and secure full-stack applications. The role owns architecture and technical direction, develops complex front-end and back-end solutions, partners with product and technology stakeholders, establishes engineering standards, and mentors engineers. Required expertise includes Java/Spring Boot or Python/Django, modern front-end technologies, software architecture, RESTful APIs, cloud and DevOps practices, and engineering quality and security. Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Full-stack software engineering experience developing enterprise applications with Java/Spring Boot or Python/Django and modern front-end technologies.
Software architecture and system design experience covering system boundaries, API contracts, data models, and scalability, availability, performance, resilience, and security.
Experience designing and delivering backend services and RESTful APIs, including authentication, authorization, business logic, data access, third-party integrations, API versioning, backward compatibility, and error handling.
Cloud and DevOps engineering experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Git, Jenkins, CI/CD, and cloud-native application development and deployment using AWS or Azure.
Experience driving engineering quality, performance, reliability, and security through automated testing, code quality, observability, performance optimization, secure coding, and production readiness.
Technical leadership and mentoring experience influencing architecture and engineering direction, establishing standards, coaching engineers, and communicating with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with application performance, reliability, observability, and production operations, including monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and MTTR improvement.
Understanding of secure-by-design development practices, including threat-aware development, dependency management, secrets management, input validation, and enterprise security standards.
Experience with quality engineering and accessibility, including automated testing, CI/CD quality gates, responsive design, and WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
Experience modernizing or transforming large-scale enterprise platforms, influencing technology roadmaps, and driving adoption of modern engineering practices and technologies.
