Description

Unite Us is hiring a remote, U.S.-based Lead Software Engineer for its Platform Services team. The role provides senior technical leadership for core APIs and interoperability solutions, including architecture, standards, complex technical initiatives, code review, mentorship, cross-team collaboration, and hands-on production delivery. Candidates need 7–8+ years of relevant software engineering experience, a bachelor's degree in a related engineering field or equivalent practical experience, and strong backend, API, cloud, CI/CD, and distributed-systems expertise. Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering field, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: 7–8+ years of relevant software engineering experience
Experience leading complex, large-scale, or cross-team technical initiatives
Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards without formal management authority
Experience making and communicating significant architecture and design trade-offs
Experience with cloud-based SaaS development and CI/CD practices
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with OAuth and SAML authentication frameworks
Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Python, or object-oriented and functional programming
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring systems
Experience working in Agile teams, particularly remotely
Experience with healthcare or social care technologies, including FHIR
