JPMorgan Chase is hiring a Lead Software Engineer - Data and Payments Data Platform to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, data platform components, data models, and governance frameworks for batch and real-time processing. The role partners with analytics, product, and business stakeholders; develops secure production code; evaluates vendor and internal architectural solutions; and leads communities of practice. Required qualifications include formal software engineering training or certification, 5+ years of applied experience, 3+ years in data engineering or data platform development, advanced programming in Python, Java, or SQL, distributed data processing experience, data modeling and query optimization knowledge, Databricks and Airflow experience, cloud data service proficiency, and experience with AI-assisted software development. Preferred qualifications include LLM and RAG exposure, data mesh or data product architecture, Infrastructure as Code, containerized deployments, data observability, and semantic layer or BI platform experience.
