Very is hiring a Lead Software Engineer (Full-stack) for a remote, US-based contract 1099 engagement. The role is client-facing and heavily hands-on, combining technical architecture, full-stack implementation, and delivery leadership across multiple client engagements. The engineer will primarily work on Java backend services initially, while also contributing across React, TypeScript, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and deployments in AWS and Azure environments. The position requires U.S. residency and U.S. citizenship, and does not offer visa sponsorship.
