Mastercard is hiring a Lead Software Engineer - Java Backend for its Operations & Technology Fraud Products team. The role develops and maintains high-performance, scalable Java backend systems for the Decision Management Platform, including fraud detection and cardholder identity validation. Responsibilities include direct software development, system design, production support, technical leadership, mentoring, Agile and SAFe collaboration, vendor technology adoption, and PCI security reviews. The position requires 8–12 years of Java software engineering experience and expertise in Java, Spring, gRPC, distributed systems, cloud platforms, databases, messaging systems, CI/CD, container orchestration, and secure coding.
