Description
The Orthopedic Surgery Scheduler coordinates schedules for orthopedic providers, clinical staff, and outside facilities; schedules surgery and pre- and post-operative appointments; handles insurance authorization, financial counseling, patient communication, and payment collection; updates practice-management and EMR systems; monitors reports and fax lines; and supports training of new schedulers. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, at least five years of orthopedic surgery scheduling experience or seven years in another specialty, strong communication and customer-service skills, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
