Description
L3Harris is hiring a Lead, Systems Engineer to serve as an acoustics modeling and simulation subject matter expert for seabed systems and multiple subsea programs. The role covers underwater acoustic propagation modeling, requirements definition and traceability, system analysis, performance validation, testing, sea trials, customer and subcontractor coordination, and risk mitigation. It is an on-site position in Millersville, Maryland or Herndon, Virginia, on a 9/80 schedule, with up to 15% travel and up to four weeks of continuous travel from home and aboard ships at sea. The position requires a bachelor’s or graduate degree with substantial prior experience, mastery of acoustic modeling tools and ocean acoustics, systems engineering and government acquisition experience, and the ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense security clearance.
