Description
The Lead Veterinarian will lead a team of shelter veterinarians and oversee the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA’s veterinary medical program. Responsibilities include developing medical protocols, monitoring shelter animal health, supervising staff veterinarians, providing clinical, surgical, emergency, and euthanasia care, maintaining records and permits, consulting specialists, assisting with animal-cruelty investigations, and educating staff, volunteers, and the public. The role requires a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, at least five years of clinical animal experience, California veterinary and DEA licenses, and proficiency with Chameleon database software or Microsoft Office. The position offers a $175,000–$250,000 annual salary, part-time consideration, relocation or student-loan-repayment support, and medical, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement, and other benefits.
