Description

Armstrong Watson is recruiting for its Start Ahead Early Careers programme, a six-year Chartered Accountant trainee pathway beginning in September 2027. The role provides a full salary, fully funded professional qualifications, client experience, and progression toward Chartered Accountant or Chartered Tax Adviser status. Trainees will develop technical and professional skills across business services, audit and assurance, and tailored placements, with regional offices in Glasgow, Carlisle, Newcastle, Leeds, or Manchester. Applicants need at least 96 UCAS points from A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications, seven GCSEs or six National Fives at Grade 5 or above including Maths, English and a science, and must be at least 18 by 31 August 2027. The firm does not offer visa sponsorship.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: A minimum of 96 UCAS points from A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications, or Scottish Highers / Advanced Highers; and a minimum of 7 GCSEs or 6 National Fives at Grade 5 or above, including Maths, English and a science.
Preferred Qualifications: No prior accounting or advanced maths knowledge required.
Willingness to work in one of the listed regional offices.
Willingness to learn to drive within three months if not already holding a full UK driving licence.
