Description

The Library of Congress is hiring a Librarian for its Israel and Judaica Section, Asian and Middle Eastern Division, Acquisitions and Bibliographic Access Directorate, Discovery and Preservation Services. This hybrid, non-supervisory position combines cataloging and acquisitions work, including cataloging materials, managing authority and classification records, coordinating purchases, reviewing invoices, supporting collection development, and providing consultation and liaison services. The role requires Armenian and/or Georgian language ability and knowledge of the relevant cultures, history, and civilizations; Russian knowledge is highly desired, as is an MLIS or advanced degree in a related field. The position uses a flexitime schedule and does not authorize relocation expenses.
