Description
The Safety Associate maintains a safe, welcoming, and inclusive library environment through patrols, monitoring public areas, responding to behavioral concerns and emergencies, de-escalating conflicts, enforcing the Library Code of Conduct, coordinating with law enforcement and emergency responders, documenting incidents, and supporting patrons and staff. The role is full-time, on-site, non-exempt, and pays $20.00 per hour. Preferred qualifications include experience in security, public safety, law enforcement, social services, customer service, or working with diverse populations, as well as training or experience in crisis intervention, de-escalation, or conflict resolution; CPR/AED and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain it is also required.
