Description
The Elevator Technician performs complex maintenance, servicing, repair, and troubleshooting of elevators, dumbwaiters, and wheelchair lifts. Responsibilities include investigating electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic problems, conducting preventive maintenance and inspections, testing safety devices, evaluating equipment modifications, and performing related duties. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a certified Elevator Technician degree or Elevator Mechanic License, and knowledge of hand and electrical tools, electrical testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment, and chain tackles. The position involves physical work in elevator shafts, pits, and other mechanical spaces, including climbing ladders and scaffolding, and requires on-call availability for emergencies.
