Ford is hiring an Optical Engineer to perform optical feasibility studies and design and analysis for exterior lighting across vehicle programs from Pre-PS through Job-1. The role involves coordinating with internal and supplier teams, using optical and CAD tools, developing preliminary optics proposals, conducting digital design reviews, evaluating complex engineering issues, supporting prototype and production activities, and managing cost, weight, complexity, and timing. The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, optics or CAE education, and related automotive or lighting experience; it is hybrid with onsite work four or more days per week and offers a base salary of $65,100 to $166,200.
