Amazon's Modeling and Optimization team is hiring a Logistics Optimization Scientist to improve global logistics network efficiency through data-driven optimization, network design, inventory placement, process and operational planning, resource allocation, and capital investment planning. The role develops production-ready algorithms and scientific tools, supports capacity and cost decisions, manages customer interactions, and partners with teams to apply appropriate analysis methods. Candidates need programming experience in Java, C++, Python, or a related language; a PhD in an engineering, computer science, machine learning, operations research, statistics, or related field; and experience applying theoretical models in an applied environment. The position is based in Bellevue, Washington, with a base salary of $136,000 to $184,000 annually.
