Focused Energy is hiring an ML Engineer to build and deploy machine learning models within its Software Engineering and Digital Twin environments for laser, targetry, and fusion systems. The role focuses on surrogate and reduced-order modeling, physics-informed neural networks, ML pipelines, uncertainty quantification, active learning, Bayesian optimization, anomaly detection, and reinforcement learning, while integrating models with HPC simulation outputs and real-time sensor data. Candidates need a master's or PhD in a relevant field, strong Python and deep-learning expertise, experience with scientific ML pipelines and metamodeling, and the ability to collaborate across physics, engineering, and software teams.
