Description

Shield AI is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to develop, train, fine-tune, deploy, and optimize vision, vision-language, and vision-language-action models for autonomous defense systems. The role covers data pipelines, supervised fine-tuning, evaluation, embedded-model deployment with ONNX and TensorRT, and collaboration with perception, autonomy, platform, and software engineering teams. Candidates need extensive related experience, a relevant degree, production computer-vision ML experience, C++ and Python proficiency, and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience; alternatively, a Master’s degree or PhD with reduced experience requirements.
Required Previous Experiences: 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 9 years with a Master’s degree, or 7 years with a PhD, or equivalent work experience.
Experience training and deploying machine learning models for computer vision in a production setting.
Experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
Experience deploying models using TensorRT and ONNX.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience developing autonomous systems for defense customers.
Experience training or fine-tuning vision-language, vision-language-action, or world models.
Contributions to open-source machine learning or computer vision projects.
Publications in leading computer vision and robotics conferences and journals.
