Description

Sofascore is hiring a full-time Machine Learning Engineer for its AI Team to build and maintain production machine learning systems for recommender systems, personalized feeds, semantic search, sentiment analysis, NLP, LLM-powered applications, and potentially computer vision. The role requires end-to-end ownership of ML problems, strong Python and SQL skills, modern deep learning and LLM knowledge, and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch, scikit-learn, or TensorFlow. Candidates should have at least two years of professional experience in machine learning or a closely related engineering role and a relevant master's degree. The role can be performed fully remotely after successful onboarding from the Zagreb office.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or another relevant technical or quantitative field
Required Previous Experiences: At least 2 years of professional industry experience in machine learning or a closely related engineering role
Hands-on professional experience working with LLMs and transformer architecture
Hands-on experience with modern machine learning frameworks and libraries
Practical SQL knowledge and independent experience working with large datasets
Practical experience with Docker and containerized development
Preferred Qualifications: Experience building recommender, ranking, or personalization systems
Experience designing and implementing RAG systems
Experience fine-tuning LLMs, open-source models, inference optimization, or scalable model serving
