Baseten is hiring a Machine Learning Researcher to pursue foundational and applied research at the intersection of post-training methodology and performant inference. The role involves defining a research agenda, designing large-scale experiments, translating customer needs into research problems, publishing at top venues, collaborating with model performance and training infrastructure teams, and mentoring junior researchers. Preferred qualifications include a master’s or PhD in machine learning, first-author publications, strong experimental judgment, and experience across multiple research areas.
