Description
The Machine Operator safely operates specialized machinery for railroad track construction or repair, including backhoes, grapple trucks, boom trucks, tampers, track jacks, power drills, rail saws, spike pullers, spike drivers, and track-wrench machines. The role also drives company vehicles, performs track maintenance, follows railroad and Transport Canada safety rules, and may require nonstandard hours, overtime, shift work, and daily travel. A high school diploma or GED, one year of track maintenance experience, one year of heavy equipment operation, a valid CDL, and Roadway Worker Protection qualification are required; prior rail, logistics, manufacturing, or oil and gas experience is preferred.
