Sonoco is hiring a Machine Operator I in Jefferson, Texas to operate industrial saws, routers, nailers, spindles, scanners, stackers, and conveying equipment that cut, machine, and assemble lumber into wood reels for wire and cable packaging. The role works the third shift from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., with some overtime, and involves processing lumber from raw material to finished product, monitoring quality, maintaining a safe work area, troubleshooting, and following manufacturing and safety procedures. The position requires at least one year of machine operating experience in an industrial environment, knowledge of hand tools and production equipment, communication skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for at least eight hours. Pay is $22.78 plus a $1.50 shift differential, with medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, and other benefits.
