Description
LAPORTE is hiring a Machine Safety Engineer in Montréal or Brossard to analyze risks, prepare technical reports, develop safety recommendations, and design, test, and commission machine safety systems such as safety PLCs, relays, guardrails, interlocks, and sensors. The role also involves programming PLCs and user interfaces, preparing specifications and drawings, collaborating with project teams, and staying current with industrial safety standards. Candidates need a bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field, 2 to 5 years of experience in machine safety or industrial automation, knowledge of CSA, ISO, and OSHA standards, and experience with programmable controllers and safety systems. The position offers a hybrid model with at least two office days per week and medical, dental, and vision coverage.
