Description
The Tooling Specialist serves as the cutting-tool subject matter expert for the Design Engineering group and machine shop. The role owns the TDM Global tool-item and tool-assembly library, selects and specifies cutting tooling, generates preliminary tool lists, produces tool-assembly prints, coordinates with CNC programmers, estimators, and manufacturing engineers, and supports shop-floor tooling questions. The position requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering or demonstrated industry experience, strong machine-shop tooling knowledge, and the ability to read engineering drawings and machining operations; hands-on machining, CNC programming, tool presetting, automated tool storage, custom cutter design, and tool-data-management experience are preferred. The role is based in the Design Engineering group with regular shop-floor presence.
