Description
The Machinist will set up and operate ProtoTRAK SMX milling machines, program or edit conversational programs, read blueprints and engineering drawings, plan setups, select tooling, and perform milling, drilling, boring, and tapping operations. The role also includes inspecting parts, troubleshooting machining issues, performing preventative maintenance, maintaining a safe work environment, and collaborating with engineering, machine builders, vendors, and customers. Candidates need at least five years of machining experience in a manufacturing or tool-and-die environment, hands-on experience with ProtoTRAK SMX or similar conversational CNC/manual systems, and strong knowledge of milling, blueprint reading, tolerancing, tool selection, speeds and feeds, and material properties.
