Description
The CNC Machinist sets up and operates CNC, conventional lathe and mill, and numerical-control machining centers to produce metallic and nonmetallic parts. The role includes reading blueprints and specifications, selecting and securing fixtures and tools, programming or inputting machine programs, measuring and adjusting workpieces, deburring, inspecting first pieces, documenting work orders, and optimizing tooling and programs. The position requires intermediate-to-advanced proficiency on at least four machines, including CNC mills and lathes, and also involves operating overhead cranes, JIB cranes, and forklifts.
