Description

The Maintenance Contract Manager oversees contracted fleet maintenance operations for a student transportation fleet, managing subcontractor performance, vehicle inspections, preventive maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance, parts and inventory control, maintenance spend, vendor management, and service continuity. The role requires fleet maintenance and vendor-management experience, CMMS experience, DOT and EPA/OSHA knowledge, a valid Class B driver’s license, and at least five years of automotive or heavy-equipment mechanic experience.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by specialized vehicle and equipment repair courses
Required Previous Experiences: At least three years managing fleet maintenance operations and/or maintenance vendor or contract performance
Experience with a computerized maintenance management system, including work order oversight, reporting, and data integrity
Experience supporting DOT-regulated fleet maintenance programs, including regulatory compliance and maintenance recordkeeping
Experience managing maintenance spend, including cost controls, invoice review, parts procurement, and vendor performance
At least five years of experience as a mechanic in an automotive, motor coach, school bus, trucking, or heavy equipment environment
Preferred Qualifications: ASE certification
