Description
The Maintenance Mechanic 2 supports UW Athletics facilities and specialized equipment at Alaska Airlines Arena through preventative maintenance, repairs, custom-shop fabrication, graphics installation, and venue setup for sporting and special events. The role reports to the Maintenance Mechanic Lead, may lead staff, and includes temporary labor management. It is an on-site, non-telework position working five 8-hour days Monday through Friday, with possible evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-related work. Applicants need recognized journey-worker apprenticeship or full-journey union status, or four years of applicable work experience; athletic-facility, carpentry, event-setup, and leadership experience are preferred. Compensation is $59,844 to $79,452 annually, with taxable benefits including tickets to UW Intercollegiate home competitions.
