TxDOT is hiring a Special Projects Coordinator to support a maintenance section responsible for more than 700 lane miles of roadway. The role coordinates people, equipment, materials, and resources for special transportation jobs and activities; leads specialized maintenance and technical workers; inspects road conditions, work-in-progress, and completed work; assists with budgeting and scheduling; coordinates traffic management plans and hazardous-material incidents; oversees contracted crews; maintains safety and inventory records; and operates light and heavy roadway equipment. The position requires a high school education or equivalent, five years of relevant roadway maintenance, construction, traffic systems management, or related experience, a Commercial Class A driver's license with an N endorsement, and the ability to work independently in varying and potentially hazardous conditions.
