Description
Yakima County is hiring multiple Maintenance Specialists for its Solid Waste Division in an intermittent, on-call, extra-help, temporary role. The position supports landfill, transfer station, septage lagoon, gas collection, scale house, and hazardous waste facility operations through mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, waste segregation, ground maintenance, vehicle and forklift operation, fueling, and customer safety assistance. It pays $21.29–$27.00 per hour and includes medical, dental, vision, retirement, paid leave, and other benefits. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, three years of relevant maintenance or related experience, a valid Washington State driver’s license, and completion of specified training within one year of hire.
