Description

Smithfield is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Plant Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to complete preventive maintenance tasks, respond to downtime events, and provide on-the-job training. Key responsibilities include executing downtime escalation protocols, logging work in SAP, assisting with root cause analysis and equipment risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The role requires flexibility to work various shifts and occasionally travel to different facilities.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
Preferred Qualifications: Ability to take and pass MCCU designated courses.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of manufacturing software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software.
Ability to work RTE and Raw side.
Ability to communicate with others by speaking, reading, and writing English.
