Volunteers of America–Greater New York is hiring a Maintenance Worker III for its East New York Residence, a permanent supportive-housing SRO in Brooklyn. The role oversees overall facility maintenance in a residential shelter environment, supervises maintenance staff, manages preventive maintenance, work orders, inventories and purchases, ensures fire-safety and regulatory compliance, responds to after-hours emergencies, and assists with capital budgeting. Candidates need a high school diploma plus three years of related building-maintenance experience including one year of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, along with basic computer skills and several New York City fire and fuel-oil system certifications.
