Description
The Mammography Technologist independently performs diagnostic mammographic procedures, obtains clinical histories, evaluates image quality, coordinates patient flow, performs biopsies and special procedures, educates patients, maintains records, and follows radiation-safety and quality-control policies. The role requires an associate degree in Allied Health with a Radiologic Technology major, completion of required mammography courses, CPR certification, and ARRT RT (R) and RT (M) registry certification; no prior work experience is required, while one year of specialized mammography experience or additional training is preferred.
