Description
Under indirect supervision, the Mammography Technologist performs breast imaging procedures from patient preparation and positioning through image quality review, submission for radiologist interpretation, and archiving. The role also includes patient communication and monitoring, radiology information system and billing documentation, assistance with breast biopsies and marking procedures, regulatory recordkeeping, equipment and supply management, and mentoring of other personnel. A high school diploma or GED, graduation from an approved radiologic technology program, ARRT registration or registry eligibility, and ARRT Mammography registry certification are required.
