Expel is hiring a remote Detection Engineer to deliver professional services for customers using co-managed SIEM models. The role focuses on authoring, tuning, validating, and migrating detection content; optimizing SIEM performance and costs; developing SOAR playbooks and custom log parsers; translating detection logic across platforms; and preparing environments for ongoing SOC operations. Candidates need hands-on SIEM expertise, at least three years of detection and response tooling experience, SIEM migration experience, knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and operating systems, and basic programming and version-control skills. The role is remote within the United States, offers a base salary of $111,900 to $162,300 USD plus bonus eligibility and equity, and does not sponsor immigration visas.
