Description

Orenda is hiring a Manager, Remote Operations to build and lead its 24/7 fleet monitoring and remote operations function for battery energy storage assets. Reporting to the Director of Asset Management, the role owns alarm management, dispatch and work-order flow, utility grid-operator coordination, telemetry and market-data analytics, revenue and warranty monitoring, NOC vendor management, and the development of an in-house control-center capability. The position is full-time, based at Orenda’s Brooklyn headquarters with regular active-site work across New York City, and offers a base salary of $145,000-$200,000 per year plus a performance-based bonus and benefits.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, engineering technology, engineering, operations management, or a related field, or equivalent progressive control room and operations center leadership experience.
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years in control room or operations center environments, including 2+ years leading a shift, desk, or team where the candidate owned the response.
Experience owning or materially improving an alarm philosophy, severity structure, or response playbook set.
Experience running live incidents end to end, including triage, dispatch, escalation, communication, and after-action.
Experience enforcing vendor or platform SLAs using independent data.
Experience building dashboards, reconciling data across systems, and producing performance reports.
Preferred Qualifications: NYISO, VDER, or DER market operations exposure
NERC certification or NERC-CIP environment familiarity
BESS or renewables fleet monitoring experience and SCADA/EMS platform depth
Settlement audit or revenue-assurance experience
Experience building or scaling a monitoring function, desk, or control room from scratch
