CarGurus is hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the Purchase team within Consumer Engineering. The role manages and develops engineers, partners with Product, UX, and Analytics on the purchase journey, and drives the team’s transition to AI-native and fully agentic development. Responsibilities include technical leadership, roadmap prioritization, consumer-facing AI experience delivery, project management, cross-team collaboration, and engineering excellence. The position requires 7+ years of relevant engineering experience, including 3+ years in engineering management or technical leadership, a strong backend and Java/Spring foundation, and a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. The annual base salary range is $186,000–$233,000 USD, with a flexible hybrid model and possible bonuses or RSUs.
