Description
The Manager – Solid Waste Operations will oversee Collier County’s landfill, transfer stations, recycling centers, scale house, and deep injection well systems. The role leads operational planning, staffing, budgeting, capital planning, contract administration, regulatory compliance, environmental standards, safety, process improvements, and strategic initiatives, while coordinating with county departments, regulatory agencies, consultants, contractors, and community partners. A bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience are required; candidates without a degree must have four additional years of related experience. Fingerprinting is required, and the manager must obtain and maintain the Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) certification within twelve months if assigned to Solid Waste Operations.
