Description
The Precourt Institute for Energy is seeking a Senior Academic Staff Researcher to serve as managing director and leader of STEER, a joint initiative with SLAC National Laboratory. The role provides strategic leadership for complex scientific, engineering, and technical research; oversees a multidisciplinary team and multi-million-dollar diversified funding portfolio; develops research strategies and partnerships; manages operations, hiring, and staff development; and raises and stewards government, industry, and foundation funding. The position is based on Stanford’s main campus with a possible hybrid schedule, requires a PhD in a technical field and at least five years of experience after a bachelor’s degree, and offers a three-year fixed term with possible renewal.
