The City of Essen is hiring a Master Craftsman (Electrical Engineering) / Deputy Workshop Manager to support the operation of emergency shelters and transitional housing for homeless people, resettlers, and refugees. The role supervises 18 employees, manages construction, maintenance, cost estimation, tendering, contracts, invoicing, inventory, safety, and risk assessments, and may require taking over an electricity infrastructure concession. It is a full-time or part-time permanent position based in the Department 50 workshop in Essen, with travel throughout the city area.
