Description
The Materials Engineer analyzes, researches, designs, and develops materials and their fabrication and application processes for engineering structures, systems, and subsystems. The role applies chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic, and composite material specifications, processing and assembly procedures, design allowables, quality specifications, failure analyses, life predictions, and test plans. It may also review and approve subcontractor material processing procedures. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering and experience with process improvement, material selection, and manufacturing-process qualification; composite-material experience is desired. The full-time salary range is $70,500 to $130,900, with medical, dental, vision, flexible work arrangements, retirement matching, paid time off, and other benefits.
