Description
Amperesand is hiring a Materials Engineer to own the materials and process foundation of medium-voltage Solid State Transformer products. The role covers material selection across dielectrics, polymers, resins, composites, and coatings; process development and qualification for potting, coating, casting, molding, and thin-film deposition; materials characterization; failure analysis; supplier collaboration; and cross-functional trade-offs across insulation, thermal management, packaging, power density, cost, and manufacturability. The position requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant engineering field and at least five years of production-relevant materials-processing experience, with SF and Reno pay ranges of $120,000–$160,000 and $115,000–$150,000 respectively.
