Description
General Matter is hiring a Materials & Process Engineer to select, characterize, qualify, and qualify metallic materials for hardware, develop physical, mechanical, and thermal property data and design allowables, improve metal manufacturing and special processes, and support reliability and production. The role partners with chemistry, design, manufacturing, and test engineering; leads root-cause investigations using fractography, metallography, and mechanical testing; and establishes characterization and inspection methods. A bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline and at least five years of professional materials or process engineering experience are required, with a base salary of $140,000-$190,000 annually and potential medical, vision, dental, stock option, and 401(k) benefits.
