Lockheed Martin is hiring a Materials Engineer to support its Orlando, Florida site in an applied-research optical-materials laboratory. The role focuses on designing, micro- and nano-scale fabricating, and characterizing photonic components such as meta-optics, photonic integrated circuits, and quantum optical devices. Candidates must have a PhD in optics, physics, material science, or a related discipline and be proficient in optical-simulation and fabrication tools, including Python/Julia, LabVIEW, MATLAB, C/C++, Zemax OpticStudio, Lumerical FDTD, and COMSOL Multiphysics. The position is full-time, offers a salary range of $85,300 to $158,300, and requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
