SpaceX is hiring a Materials Engineer, Polymers (Starlink) to develop, test, and evaluate polymeric materials for Starlink products, support material selection and processing, solve material and processing challenges, lead injection-molded part scale-up from prototype to production, and conduct root-cause failure investigations. The role requires a bachelor's degree in materials science or engineering and at least one year of experience with thermoplastics, elastomers, and/or adhesives; preferred qualifications include advanced degrees, extensive polymer processing and characterization experience, and consumer-products or electronics experience. The position requires extended hours and weekends, up to 25% travel, exposure to fumes, odors, and noise, and occasional work in tight or confined spaces. ITAR eligibility is required.
