Description
Lam Research is hiring an advanced materials scientist or engineer to develop, validate, and deploy high-performance materials and surface treatments for semiconductor wafer fabrication equipment. The role involves empirical and modeling development, materials characterization, accelerated life testing, failure analysis, experimental design, and cross-functional collaboration to define operational boundaries and improve hardware reliability. Candidates need a materials science, materials engineering, or metallurgical engineering degree, at least five years of relevant experience, laboratory and analytical testing experience, and knowledge of metallurgy, electrochemistry, and structured problem-solving. The role may be performed under an on-site flex or virtual flex hybrid model.
