Description
Commonwealth Fusion Systems is hiring a Materials Test Operator to support its mechanical testing and characterization laboratory for fusion-system components and high-temperature superconducting magnets. The role prepares specimens, operates Instron and other mechanical testing equipment, performs metallographic preparation and microscopy, manages test data and Jira/QBench orders, maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment, and supports production and inventory activities. Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of materials preparation and testing experience, and two years of technical support experience involving mechanical and electrical assembly, vacuum systems, cryogenic systems, soldering, and wiring.
