The McKinney-Vento Coordinator oversees the implementation of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act across the Ingham County Consortium, coordinating services for homeless children, youth, and families. The role serves as a liaison among students, families, schools, community organizations, and state agencies; manages referrals, advocacy, transportation-related support, grant applications and budgets, data reporting, consortium activities, and compliance; and provides technical assistance to districts. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, experience with at-risk youth or homeless families, grant and compliance experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include McKinney-Vento and federal grant experience, knowledge of homeless education laws, consortium coordination experience, and Synergy data-management experience.
